A bespoke racing-inspired version of the F12 Berlinetta has been spotted ahead of its official unveilling this weekend, with photos of the roofless supercar being posted up on Facebook.

Little is known about the car, but pundits say it will wear a 'F12 TRS' badge on its rear once officially revealed at the Ferrari Cavalcade in Sicily this weekend.

Observers have also speculated that the car was commisioned at a cost of US$4.2 million, though this, like the identity of its owner, has yet to be confirmed.

It's not clear whether this car's powertrain and drivetrain differs from the standard F12's 545kW/690Nm 6.2 litre V12 engine, but what's obvious is that there's not a single common body panel between it and a 'regular' F12 Berlinetta.

The internet rumour-mill also says that the KERS electric assistance motor from the LaFerrari has been adapted for this car, enabling an extra 120kW and 270Nm to be added for short bursts of acceleration.

Whether any of the above is true remains to be seen, but with the F12 TRS expected to debut this weekend we shouldn't have to wait too long to find out.
