For those Australian supercar shoppers burdened with an eco-conscience, the V8-powered Ferrari California is now a little more efficient.

This week, Ferrari importer Ateco has announced availability of the California HELE, an emissions-cutting package that adds stop&start, intelligent fan and fuel pump control and an adaptive gear shift system.

All of that combines to cut CO2 emissions from 299g/km to 270 g/km, and Ferrari says that in 'real world' driving, owners can look forward to emissions dropping by up to 23 percent.

Importantly, choosing the HELE option when buying your new California will also free an extra 25Nm of torque from the V8 engine.

Power for the Ferrari California's V8 is rated at 338kW at 7750rpm and 485Nm of torque at 5000rpm - plus another 25Nm if you pick up the HELE system. The 0-100km/h sprint is covered in "less than" four seconds.

Pricing and Availability

The Ferrari California is priced at $459,650 (plus on-road costs). Ticking the HELE option adds $2750 to the price.
