With three races left in the Formula One World Championship, Australian Red Bull driver Mark Webber says consistency is the key to finishing the year on a high.

Webber told the Australian Grand Prix's "Keeping Track" podcast that he wants to win again before the end of the season.

“We’re looking to finish the season very strongly, and I’m looking to get some more victories before the year is out, coupled with some consistency like we started the year,” Webber said.

The first four races yielded four fourths and Webber was staying with the championship leaders, grabbing wins in Monaco and at Silverstone before a slump in form for the RB8 and the rise of Alonso at Ferrari.

“With all those fourth-place finishes … at the time (they) were very frustrating, but they were important to me. I’m not looking to do those kinds of results from here, but some consistency and to get the odd victory would be very nice,” he said.

Webber has had two podium finishes in a row - the second at the Indian Grand Prix with an ailing car - and wants to fight for the top step, even though teammate Vettel is up against Fernando Alonso for the overall championship.

He has also qualified on the front row in both of those races, scoring pole position in Korea.

Webber finished 2011 strongly with an impressive win at the Brazilian Grand Prix after an indifferent season, but has battled with a difficult car and some bad luck in recent races.

The next race is this weekend at the Abu Dahbi Yas Marina Circuit, with the V8 Supercars running as a support category. After that it's off to Texas for the inaugural Circuit of the America's race and then finally, Brazil.
