Early LaFerrari Concepts On Display At Maranello’s Museo Ferrari

The Museo Ferrari in Maranello is now home to a number of early design studies for what eventually became LaFerrari, the carmaker's new hypercar.

Produced as part of Project F150 - LaFerrari's working title during development - the concepts are on display as part of the company's 'Ferrari Supercar - Technology. Design. Myth.' exhibition.

The show offers an insight into the design and engineering inspirations that led to LaFerrari, from the 250 GTO through to the 1984 GTO, the F40, the F50 and finally the Enzo, LaFerrari's direct predecessor. 

Of course, LaFerrari would be nothing without Ferrari's racing pedigree, with further inspiration and technology drawn from the likes of the GTO Evoluzione, the F40 Competizione, the 599XX and the FXX.

The 1:1 scale concepts are dubbed Tensostruttura, meaning simply 'Tensile Structure', and Manta, inspired by and named for the family of sleek tropical fish. 

The exhibition is open to the public over the next six months, and tickets can be purchased at www.museoferrari.com.

The final LaFerrari, revealed at the Geneva Motor Show this month, is powered by a petrol V12 and electric motor hybrid system that produces a combined 708kW, offering a 0-100km/h time of "less than" 3.0 seconds.
