The now independent DS - born out of the former Citroen DS range - is set to launch a new range-topping sedan in 2018.
DS began its road to exclusivity earlier this year when the chevron emblem disappeared from its logo for the new DS 5 model.
And now, industry paper Automotive News Europe quotes an unnamed source in reporting the new sedan will be unlike anything to have worn a Citroen DS badge before.
Dubbed the ‘DS 8’ (for now, a name that could be changed), the new sedan is destined to debut in the Chinese market in 2018 before being offered to European customers.
The source reportedly said the DS 8 would feature styling cues from both the Numero 9 concept (pictured below) from the Beijing Auto Show in 2012 and the Divine DS concept (pictured, top of page) from last year’s Paris Motor Show.
