Former Baywatch babe and veteran sextape starlet Pamela Anderson has kicked off her own racing team, dubbed Downforce1.

The team will field an Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT2 in the European Le Mans series and in the International GT Open, sporting a white and blue livery that Anderson calls her "signature colour". We'll take her word for it.

Managed by David Prewitt, the team lists Markus Fux (Markus what? They're kidding... no? Ed.) as its first pilot, with previous credits including victories in open-wheelers and time behind the wheel in NASCAR, GT Open and GT2 rides.

Fux will also operate as the team's marketing boss.

Anderson aside, the team's website says it is backed by 10 years experience in various European and North American racing series.

Downforce1's sponsors include animal welfare group PETA, and Anderson's talent agency ICM.

The puns for this sort of "news" just about write themselves, but Anderson puts it best: "fast cars and fast women go together, and here we are surrounded by men, I love it".

Pammy says that if things go well, the team will push for a NASCAR entry in 2013.
