Dodge has revealed a special Mopar-enhanced version of its new Dart small sedan, bringing a handful of styling tweaks and a modest power boost.

On the design front, the Dart GTS 210 Tribute gets matte black accents, along with a vented carbon-fibre bonnet, 18-inch alloy wheels and side skirts.

Inside, there are Katzkin leather seats, gloss piano-black highlights and a suede-wrapped dash.

Under the bonnet, the Chrysler Group's Mopar tuning arm has installed a high-flow intake system and a sports exhaust package, upping power for the 2.4 litre engine from the standard 137kW to a Golf GTI-rivalling 157kW. Performance figures have not been revealed.

Shown here in 'virtual' form, the special Dart will make its first public appearance at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show.

The unveiling of the special-edition GTS 210 Tribute suggests we could also see am SRT4 variant in the Dart's future, following in the path of its predecessor, the Neon SRT4.

Built on a slightly modified version of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta's platform, the Dart SRT4 could pick up the six-speed manual transmission that features in the 'Cloverleaf' version of the Alfa hatch, along with a more powerful turbocharged engine.
