The single teaser image shows a headlight, a high-mounted fog light, the edges of a grille and what appears to be cladding on the front wheel arch.
Styling lines for the bonnet, guard and bumper are also visible, with all three displaying a chiselled look.
The clues appear to hint at a new crossover or SUV from Datsun, and rumours suggest the concept will be inspired by the Renault Kwid SUV unveiled earlier this year.
This could mean the concept (and subsequent road-going model) is based on the Alliance’s CMF-A platform, but this and most other details are unclear at this stage.
All will be revealed in the lead up to Tokyo but as with all of Datsun’s current model line-up, this isn’t one we expect will ever be offered to buyers in Australia.
