Nissan's reborn Datsun, now plying its trade as a budget-focused brand in developing markets, is preparing to launch a second new model in 2014.

Teased as an unnamed concept in a single shadowy illustration today, the new model will target "up-and-coming young customers" in India and other emerging "high-growth" markets.

Datsun remains tight-lipped on the details, although today's sketch suggests the new model will be slightly smaller - and a little more stylish - than the Go hatch that debuted in 2013.

The Go is already quite small, however - around the size of Suzuki's light Swift - which suggests this new offering would enter as a rival to the even more diminutive Alto/A-Star.

The artwork also hints at a taller ride height, pointing to a compact crossover SUV style for the new Datsun model.

Watch for the concept to be unveiled on February 5 in Delhi.
