The new concept’s Beijing debut will follow the production debut of Citroen’s C4 Cactus crossover in February - a model that is currently being considered for Australia.
Details for the new SUV concept have not been revealed, although it is likely it will share its underpinnings with the Cactus and Peugeot’s 2008 compact SUV.
A comparison of these sketches with Peugeot's compact SUV also suggests the new Citroen will share much of its body styling with the 2008 - including the glasshouse, door panels and tailgate.
Citroen has confirmed that the new concept is a joint development with Chinese partner Dongfeng. Whether the new Citroen will be offered in global markets or for China alone also remains to be seen.
Watch for more details to come at the Beijing Auto Show.
