Citroen has released details of its new DS4 Racing Concept, just hours after a handful of leaked images offered a first look at the new performer.
The carmaker has also confirmed what its fans will have hoped: under the hood is the brand's trusty 1.6 litre turbo engine, but rather than its regular top-tune 147kW, this concept develops a Golf R-rivalling 191kW.
As with its smaller DS3 Racing stablemate, the DS4 R's extra go-juice comes courtesy of tweaks delivered by the in-house Citroen Racing division, although details of its handiwork have not been revealed.
The DS4 Racing touts a 35mm lower ride height, and its track is 55mm wider at the front and 75mm wider at the rear.
Braking is managed by four-piston fixed callipers hugging 380mm discs at the front, sitting behind 19-inch light alloy wheels.
Of course, this new concept wouldn't be a true Citroen without a unique styling feature, and the French carmaker has delivered a textured-effect matte-grey finish, which it describes as a first in the car realm (although some aftermarket mobs might beg to differ).
Whether the DS4 Racing will enter production, but with the DS3 Racing concept-to-production car as a predecent, this showcar's odds look good.
