Citroen's big new DS Wild Rubis concept has leaked out onto the web today, just hours before its official online unveiling.
Previewing a new SUV companion for Citroen's growing range of upmarket DS models, the Wild Rubis wears styling cues drawn from across the existing range.
This suggests that little about the WR's look will change before it reaches production, although a more conventional grille design will likely replace the reflective plate featured here.
One key detail separating the Wild Rubis from the rest of the DS range, however, is the absence of Citroen's familiar chevron grille design - an element that has so far featured across the range.
Likewise, the small Citroen badge that features below the DS logo on production models is also absent from this concept.
The omissions add credence to reports that parent PSA will break the DS range away, growing the badge's prestige cachet while allowing the regular Citroen line to focus on affordable volume sellers.
The move will help the Wild Rubis compete against established prestige offerings in the segment, including BMW's X3 and the Audi Q5.
Full details on the new model are still to be confirmed, but an unveiling now only hours away, all will be revealed soon.
