Citroen’s coming new Aircross concept, scheduled to make its debut later this week, has been given an unscheduled online debut.

Teased only days ago with a tightly cropped image and the Aircross name, the new show car is now out of the bag.

As its name suggested we should expect, Citroen’s latest concept is revealed as a new small crossover that could soon replace the Mitsubishi ASX-based C4 Aircross.

Launched internationally in 2011, the C4 Aircross failed to set hearts on fire, and Australian sales in 2013 topped out at 133 units. The model was quietly withdrawn from the local market in 2014.

This new Aircross may turn things around for the French brand’s hopes in the booming SUV market, however, thanks to its uniquely Citroen snout.
