Classic automobilia might be the primary focus of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, but that doesn’t stop automakers from rolling out extravagant concepts to grab the attention of affluent customers.
Cadillac is less open about the form that its newest concept will take, revealing only the dashboard, but despite only a few seconds of video the new Cadillac concept is hardly lacking for premium imagery.
An expansive display makes up the bulk of what lies ahead of the driver, incorporating not only the instrument cluster, but spilling out beyond to reach from the driver’s door to the centre of the dash.
No doubt Cadillac will be unveiling the latest generation Cadillac User Experience (or CUE) infotainment system.
Also shown is a retro-inspired steering wheel, returning to Cadillac’s historic thin-rimmed, narrow-spoke look seen in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Beyond that the rest of the interior is an exercise in minimalism, highlighted by finely detailed finishes.
The car itself is unknown at this stage, with Cadillac remaining tight-lipped about the final form of the car’s exterior, however to best impress the discerning Pebble Beach crowd, expect something large and exclusive - not unlike the 2013 El Miraj concept.
Full details will be revealed in a few days time, when the first shots will fired between Mercedes-Benz and Cadillac for concept car bragging rights.
