Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Is A Topless Maniac

Two years ago, Bugatti unveiled the 895kW Veyron 16.4 Super Sport - presumably because 747kW and incredible exclusivity wasn't enough of a drawcard for most buyers.

Now, the same overtuned version of the Veyron's quad-turbo 8.0 litre 16-cylinder engine has made its way into the topless Grand Sport, to create the special Vitesse.

Set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month, the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse will offer the same 895kW and 1500Nm figures delivered by the Super Sport, and it should also see out the last of the remaining Veyrons.

Speaking at a private unveiling this week, Bugatti (and Bentley) boss Wolfgang Dürheimer said, "the rapid success of the Super Sport convinced us to increase the performance of the Bugatti roadster."

"Once again our engineers worked hard to demonstrate that Bugatti is able to constantly redefine the boundaries of what is technically feasible."

Whether the Vitesse will achieve the same Guiness World Record-setting 431.07km/h top speed of its hardtop sibling remains to be seen.

Final performance figures will be revealed next month, when the Vitesse debuts in Geneva.
