Officially the Brabus-fettled engine wears the PowerXtra B40S - 650 moniker, based on the 650HP output of the engine. Changes includes specially-developed twin-turbochargers with enlarged compressor units and reinforced axial bearings plus a remap of the electronic boost pressure limiter, injection, and ignition systems to cope.
A la carte upgrades include a valved exhaust system which can switch between full-noise free breathing mode, or a more subtle “coming home” setting and 20-inch forged alloy wheels, also newly added to the Brabus range.
Styling is upgraded via carbon elements for the front bumper intakes, front guard vents, side sill extensions, front and rear wheel arch deflectors, and rear bumper, available in ‘naked’ or gloss carbon fibre. Wind tunnel testing for the new components ensures high-speed stability.
Brabus has also touched on ride and handling with Ride Control adaptive dampers, including adjustable ride height.
Inside the Brabus upholstery shop can apply individual interior highlights to meet customer requirements, like a Azure Blue highlights of the show car, which is set to debut as part of the Geneva Motor Show.
