BMW has teamed with renowned design and engineering house Zagato to reveal a new concept this week, the Z4 Zagato Coupe.
Hot on the heels of its latest Aston Martin collaboration, the Italian outfit's collaboration with BMW is the headline act at the Concorso d'Eleganza on the banks of Lake Como.
Unlike the production Z4 Coupe of the previous generation, this new concept shares not a single panel with its topless progenitor, and even the headlights were made from scratch.
Standout features include a mesh grille made from tiny Z letters, the double-bubble roof and a back-end inspired by the 1940 BMW 328 “Mille Miglia” Kamm coupé.
Technical details for the cherry red Coupe haven't been revealed, but odds are good that if you popped the bonnet, you'd find the faithful 250kW and 450Nm 3.0 litre turbo-six that drives the flagship Z4 sDrive35is.
In that topless and very available roadster, the twin-turbo straight-six promises a 0-100km/h time of 4.8 seconds.
