BMW could finally be preparing to launch a compact new roadster that would enter below the existing Z4 convertible.
Expected to be called Z2, the new model has been the subject of reports and speculation for years now - but reports out of the US suggest the project is now a ‘go’.
According to magazine Car & Driver, earlier reports of a small roadster based on the same UKL1 platform that underpins the 2 Series Active Tourer and MINI Cooper were accurate.
That would make the so-called Z2 a front-wheel-drive (and possibly all-wheel-drive) offering, along the lines of MINI’s Roadster.
