BMW has today announced availability of the new 2011 BMW X6 xDrive30d, bringing a new entry point into the big SUV's diesel line-up and for the whole X6 range.

Priced at $109,900 (plus on-road costs), the xDrive30d is now the most affordable model in the X6 range and slots in beneath the $124,900 xDrive40d.

Power for the X6 xDrive30d is provided by a 3.0 litre straight-six turbodiesel engine, producing 180kW and 540Nm of torque.

Paired with n eight-speed automatic transmission as standard, the xDrive30d lists fuel consumption figures of 7.4 l/100km and a 0-100km/h time of 7.5 seconds.

As with all X6 models, the xDrive30d gets Dynamic Performance Control as standard, designed to bring the big SUV's handling and manageability into the realm of smaller vehicles.

It also features a number of BMW EfficientDynamics technologies, including low rolling-resistance tyres and brake energy regeneration - both contributing to the xDrive30d's impressive fuel consumption figures.

The xDrive30d also marks the introduction of a five-seat option across the X6 range, offering a three-passenger rear seat.

The new centre seat incorporates a three-point safety belt and also retains a centre armrest. The 60:40 fold-down split of the rear seats remains unchanged.

Standard features include 19-inch star-spoke alloy wheels, sports seats, sports leather steering wheel, Bi-Xenon headlights and Nevada leather upholstery.

BMW's ConnectedDrive systems are also featured as standard, including Head-Up Display, Rear View Camera with Top View, Professional Navigation, Bluetooth and USB Audio Interface.

High-Beam Assist, Automatic Tailgate and Park Distance Control front and rear complete the premium value package standard on the X6 xDrive30d.

An optional $5000 Sports Package will also be available on the new model, offering 20-inch light alloy wheels, a high-gloss shadow line and anthracite roofliner.

Priced from $109,900 (plus on-road costs), the BMW X6 xDrive30d is available to order now from Authorised BMW dealers with first vehicles expected to arrive in the country in June.
