BMW To Reveal i Range This Week?

BMW has announced it will host a press conference on Friday (Saturday in Australia), where it will preview the upcoming range of i-badged cars. 

Launching with the all-electric i3 citycar and the hybrid-powered i8 sports car, the first models in the BMW i range form the opening salvo in the German carmaker's 'green' assault. 

BMW has not offered any details for this week's event, and it remains unclear whether it will unveil the production i cars, or more information on the range.  

A public unveiling in September at Frankfurt is expected for both models, with a market debut scheduled for early 2013.
