BMW's next M3 and its two-door M4 brother will debut in the coming months, and it is believed a concept version of the M4 could appear as early as next week's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

This week, BMW has kicked off the teaser train with a short new video clip that offers a couple of hints as to what the M division has in store for fans.

The video doesn't give much away in terms of the new M cars' technical details, but we can at least expect enhanced versions of 3 and 4 Series bodies, with weight-saving carbon fibre components featured throughout.

The new M models are also expected to use boosted six cylinder engines, marking the end of the current generation M3’s screaming 4.0 litre atmospheric V8.

On the topic of those engines, today's new teaser video reveals that the turbo six will deliver some rather tasty, rather rorty sounds.

Another key hint is the color of the vehicle glimpsed in the video, wearing a shade similar to the Phoenix Yellow offered with BMW’s last six cylinder M3 the E46. Is BMW getting all nostalgic with this new model?

Today's teaser video is bound to be just the first in a series of clips and images, so keep your eyes on TMR for more details as they become available.
