Ever find yourself wondering what your car is up to during the day? BMW has the solution, thanks to a new technology called Remote 3D View, set to appear on the new 5 Series sedan.
Before the 5 Series makes its production debut towards the end of this year, BMW is set to offer a series of technical highlight snippets, like the one below, to showcase the new executive sedan’s technical innovation.
In the case of Remote 3D View, the system allows a birdseye view, created from the vehicle’s 360 degree camera system, and display’s what’s going on around the vehicle via a smartphone app.
BMW has yet to reveal the full capabilities of the system, so potential features like incident recording or impact detection aren’t yet confirmed.

Like the 7 Series that came before it, the new 5 Series is expected to feature a range of high-tech solutions, with a focus on connectivity, as well as making the move to lightweight construction and significant boost in interior presentation.
Although not confirmed, the new 5 Series is expected to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show next month, with more information about the new vehicle to be revealed before then.
