BMW has released a trio of teaser images for its new Gran Lusso Coupe concept, bound for this month's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Italy.
The new show-car will mark the third of BMW's most recent collaborative projects, following the unveiling of its Zagato-styled Z4 Coupe and Roadster.
Details about the new concept remain a secret for now, although BMW isn't too shy to disclose the big coupe's powerplant: a hefty V12 engine.
Specifics of the engine haven't been revealed, although we can likely expect a version of the 6.0 litre 400kW mill available with the big 7 Series limo.
The source of the concept's platform has also not been revealed, although BMW promises a noteably long wheelbase.
The wheelbase of the 7 Series ranges from an already long 3070 to 3210mm, but its even more upmarket platform cousin, the Rolls-Royce Ghost, boasts wheelbases between 3295 and 3450mm.
The Ghost also has a Wraith Coupe sibling, riding on a 3112mm wheelbase, and it could be this ready-to-go architecture that will underpin the Gran Lusso.
But will this new concept lead to a return of the 8 Series, to sit alongside the big 7 Series limo? BMW has yet to confirm any production plans for its Zagato concepts, but a big new coupe would make one hell of a halo model.
