BMW's sleek new 6 Series Gran Coupe has been given an unexpected unveiling at a Nurburgring event, just days after the local launch of its Coupe and Convertible siblings.
These latest shots follow spy photos of the big performance sedan lapping the Nurburgring course, with bigger wheels, bigger brakes, a quad exhaust system and more aggressively-styled front and rear bumpers.

The M6 Gran Coupe is expected to debut at the Detroit Auto Show, showcasing the same 412kW 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 used by the two-door models.
BMW's now-familiar seven-speed M DCT twin clutch transmission will take power to the M6 Gran Coupe's rear wheels, and the car's 0-100km/h sprint time is speculated to be in the low four-second range.
As for pricing, we can expect it to compete with the likes of the $440k Porsche Panamera Turbo S and $370k Aston Martin Rapide.
