Big news everyone: it's twins. BMW's new M3 sedan and M4 coupe have made their way online today, leaked in the overseas press ahead of an expected Thursday unveiling.

Appearing on enthusiast sites BMWblog and VWvortex today, these high-quality photos offer the first proper look at the latest in a long line of M3 cars, and the first-ever M4 coupe.

Of course, the M4 enters as the hugely popular E92 M3 coupe departs, arriving as the flagship model in the new 4 Series range.

As expected - and as previewed with August's M4 Concept and September's official 'spy' photos - both models build on the existing 3 and 4 Series look with a host of styling and aero enhancements.

It's all there, from the familiar power dome in the bonnet to the heavily pumped guards, sports bumpers, quad exhaust tips, big wide alloy wheels and a deep vent in the front quarter panel.

In the cabin, both models get the usual enhancements, including a haul of carbon fibre highlights and BMW's new-design three-spoke steering wheel.

Technical details are still to come, although BMW has already revealed that both cars will feature a turbocharged six-cylinder engine delivering around 316kW and "well over" 500Nm of torque.

Little else is known however - acceleration figures remain a secret for now - although it is believed the M4 will bring a sub-1400kg kerb weight to the party.
