BMW M2 COUPE
Developed by independent artist Jerry Alvarez for enthusiast site BMW Blog, this rendering builds on existing images with BMW M’s familiar design elements.
Across the face we can see the new M4 Coupe’s aerodynamic features, while the regular roof has been ‘Photoshopped’ out for a lighter carbon-fibre replacement.
Through the profile the so-called M2 gets fattened guards - just as its predecessor the very-real 1 Series M Coupe wore - and wider light alloy rims.
And according to BMW Blog, unnamed sources have confirmed a 2016 debut for the M2, entering above the already impressive 240kW M235i Coupe.
What would drive the M2? There's already a 240kW turbo engine driving the M235i coupe, but that doesn't necessarily mean a hefty power boost would come to the top M model.
BMW could instead focus on chassis and aerodynamics, debuting a model inspired by the M235i Racing track car revealed last year.
But, for now, the M2 remains a dream for fans eager to enter the BMW M club on the ground floor.
