BMW has boosted the value at the bottom of its 4 Series range, introducing Luxury Edition upgrades for the 420i Coupe and 420i Gran Coupe models.

The Luxury Edition treatment adds keyless entry and ignition, metallic paint, an electric sunroof, front seat heating and unique styling elements front and rear with additional chrome trims for a more upmarket look.

The extras are in addition to the standard features on the 420i Luxury Line which include 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive M suspension, front and rear LED lights, leather upholstery, electric sports seats, reversing camera with surround view, head-up display, front and rear parking sensors and a powered tailgate for the Gran Coupe.

Under the bonnet, the 420i twins are both powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 135kW and 270Nm paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The price for the Luxury Edition two-door 420i Coupe and five-door 420i Gran Coupe is $74,900 drive-away compared to the previous $69,900 before on-road costs for the stock 420i models.

The special editions are now on sale locally.
