BMW has detailed a long list of updates for several of its small, midsized and large model ranges, along with new standard ‘equipment’ for its i8 plug-in hybrid sports car.
At the top of the list is a new range of powerplants for several existing and introduced variants, as BMW increases the availability of its TwinPower turbocharged engine range.
Arriving in overseas markets from March this year, the 2 Series Coupe and Convertible get new variants and a longer options list, while the 2 Series Active Tourer gets a new entry-level diesel model.
First revealed in September last year, the 218i Coupe and Convertible (both new) score a 1.5 litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 100kW and 220Nm, offering an optional eight-speed automatic while returning a best fuel figure of 5.1 l/100km.
The Coupe version with manual transmission is the fastest to 100km/h from rest with a time of 8.8 seconds.
