BMW And Brilliance Reveal Zinoro Brand For China

Ten years after forming a joint venture with Chinese manufacturer Brilliance, BMW has unveiled a new ‘Zinoro’ brand for the Chinese market.

According to industry site ChinaAutoWeb, Zinoro is an English contraction of the Chinese characters ‘Zhi’ and ‘Nuo’, and translates to “keeping commitment/promise to China.”

The first Zinoro production model is expected to be a pure-electric vehicle based on the X1 SUV, and produced in the joint venture partners' Shenyang plant.

A BMW engine plant is set to begin construction nearby before the year’s end, and a new development centre is also planned.
