BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Teased For Concorso d’Eleganza Show

BMW will introduce a new addition to its family of history-inspired concepts when it unveils the 3.0 CSL Hommage at next week’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

Joining the 2011 328 Hommage and 2008 M1 Hommage (which went on to inspire today’s i8 hybrid sports car), this latest concept will pay tribute to the legendary E9 3.0 CSL coupe of the 1970s.

In its full racing trim, the 3.0 CSL earned the nickname ‘Batmobile’, and it’s that heavily bewinged design that has inspired the designers of the coming new 3.0 CSL Hommage concept.

This teaser illustration (top) reveals that we can expect to see the new BMW M4 coupe overhauled with huge fender flares that extend into a dramatic rear wing and LED lighting combo.
