BMW 2 SERIES ACTIVE TOURER
The launch of this sported-up variant follows the Active Tourer’s official unveiling early last month - dubbed as a “completely new concept for BMW”.
New? Yes, sharing its platform with the new MINI Cooper, the 2AT is BMW’s first front-wheel-drive offering. The first of many, that is.
But, not to be seen as merely a hauler of small families, this new M Sport version adds a (somewhat) meaner body kit, interior tweaks and sharpened handling.
On the outside, there’s the usual M Sport upgrades, including sports bumpers at both ends, skirts, larger alloy wheels and twin exhaust tips at the rear.
In the cabin, there’s the familiar BMW M steering wheel, sports seats and contrast stitching throughout.
As an M Sport model, there’s also 10mm lower suspension with a sports tune for more dynamic handling.
Like other M Sport models, the enhanced 2 Series Active Tourer is a styling and handling package only, with power figures and tunes left untouched.
The new 2 Series Active Tourer range will make its Australian debut in the fourth quarter of 2014.
