A tweaked version of Bentley’s EXP 9 F SUV concept could make an appearance as early as November, according to a new report.
American site Inside Line reports that Bentley spokesman Martin Broomer has suggested the UK luxury brand will be revealing more of its SUV foray before the end of the year.
This could manifest in the unveiling of an updated concept car at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
Reports of a restyle emerged soon after the EXP 9 F SUV made its controversial debut at Geneva in March, with criticism levelled at the concept’s clockface headlights and chiselled surface treatment.
Broomer has reportedly addressed this criticism by reiterating the EXP 9 F’s ‘concept’ status, and that its styling did not necessarily represent that of a production car.
Bentley showed the Geneva concept to potential customers at the recent Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, and feedback was reportedly positive.
The recent appointment of Luc Donckerwolke as head of Bentley design should instill some confidence in an eventual production model, given his previous success in overseeing the Lamborghini Murcielago and Gallardo models.
Previous reports have suggested that this production model will receive an official green light before the year’s end, with production not likely before 2015.
