Bentley has officially unveiled its new Continental GT Speed Convertible, ahead of its first public showing in Detroit this month.
The British luxury marque released images of the new model just days ago, revealing what Bentley claims is “the world’s fastest four seat convertible".
Like the hardtop GT Speed unveiled at Goodwood in 2012, the Convertible churns out 460kW/800Nm from its 6.0 litre twin turbocharged W12 engine.
With a 175kg greater kerb weight however, the GT Speed C's 0-100km/h time grows by 0.2 seconds to 4.4 seconds.
Similarly, the Convertible version’s top speed drops 5km/h to 325km/h, and Bentley’s press info doesn’t specify whether this remains possible with the roof down (the previous GTC Speed dropped from 320km/h to 312km/h with the lid lowered).
Visually, the GT Speed Convertible is distinguished from the Continental GTC drop top by its Speed-specific 21 inch wheels, enlarged and rifled exhaust tips, 10mm lower suspension tune, and dark chrome finish to the front grilles.
