Bentley is yet to officially pull the covers from its first Bentayga SUV (pictured, above), but the carmaker is already considering a second SUV model for its line-up.

That’s the word out of the UK, as Auto Express reports Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer hinted at a second, smaller SUV model when questioned on the issue at the Shanghai Auto Show.

Mr Durheimer speaks of a “fifth model line”, saying the carmaker would be interested in exploring the small to midsized SUV market once the Bentayga has been launched.

But Durheimer also left the door open for a production version of the recent EXP 10 Speed 6 concept, declaring the coupe to be the second of two lines of interest.

“We are a fairly small company and can’t have too many balls in the air at the same time,” Mr Durheimer said.

“It’s a fifth model line that’s very well defined here (with the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept) and it’s further SUV derivatives - they are our main two search criteria.”
