Bentley has confirmed this week that its coming new SUV, teased extensively over the past year, will be known as the Bentayga.
The new model’s name is taken from the 1414-metre Roque Bentayga mountain peak of Spain’s Canary Islands, while also drawing inspiration from the Taiga, the world’s largest transcontinental snow forest.
“Bentayga is a name that reflects what we know our SUV will do better than any other car in the world: combine the best automotive luxury with outstanding performance to take the Bentley experience to new environments,” Bentley chief Wolfgang Dürheimer said.
When the Bentayga is revealed later this year, it will join the Mulsanne, the Flying Spur, the Continental range and the Grand Convertible in the growing Bentley range.
