Racing legends Sir Jack Brabham and Alan Jones were on hand this week for the unveiling of a plaque at Melbourne’s Albert Park street circuit, celebrating 60 years since the circuit's first Australian Grand Prix.

The plaque was commissioned by the Australian Grand Prix Corporation and the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) and sits at the current ‘turn three’, which was the original start/finish line.

The permanent monument features images of Bill Wilcox’s 1953 Ford V8 Special that took to the circuit in the first Grand Prix held at Albert Park, along with Mark Webber's 2013 Red Bull Racing RB9.
