Aussie Racing Cars Series Drivers Compete For A Chance At Bathurst
Two young FW1 Aussie Racing Cars drivers are gunning for the ride of their life this month. A new television series, Shannons Supercar Showdown, to air on 7Mate, is giving a number of aspiring challengers the chance to compete in October's Bathurst Classic.
FW1 Aussie Racing Cars ambassador and driver Hayley Swanson and fellow driver David Sera will be among the 10 drivers taking part in the series.
Aussie Racing Cars founder Phil Ward said it was "a real coup" to have two of the series' younger drivers appearing on the show.
“This year has been fantastic, and with four rounds of the FW1 Aussie Racing Cars Super Series to go, there is still so much in store," Mr Ward said.
"Having Hayley and David appear in the Supercar Showdown is an added bonus in our efforts to gain more support for the Series."
The Supercar Showdown series offers young drivers an opportunity to advance their skills on the track and learn from some of the champions of the racing circuit, including the show’s judges Rick and Todd Kelly.
The brothers have won 28 races V8 Supercar races between them, including three at Bathurst, and a V8 Supercars Championship.
The show won't be a walk in the park for Swanson and Sera however. They'll be facing off against the likes of Andrew Jordan, who has travelled from Britain to take part in this competition; Cameron Waters, who at age 16 has been dubbed the next big thing in motorsports; and New Zealand gun, Nick Cassidy.
Shannons Supercar Showdown will air on 7Mate on the 23rd of July.
