The five-door TT Sportback concept that debuted at last year's Paris Motor Show has a strong chance of becoming the next bodystyle variant in Audi's TT family, according to a company insider.

One of three TT-based concepts revealed by the German automaker last year, the TT Sportback adds more length, two more doors and significantly more passenger space to the TT's platform.

It differs markedly from the other two concepts - the Allroad Shooting Brake and TT Offroad - by being the sole non-SUV design in the trio.

A report last month suggested that the five-door TT Offroad (below) would likely become the third member of the TT family, but it's understood by TMR that the sleeker TT Sportback has generated a more positive response, boosting its chances of a production debut.
