Audi's S4 has sat on the throne of the current A4 line-up since its debut in 2008, with the sedan's true king - the RS 4 - lost in the cold and dark lands of Will They Or Won't They.

Reports and rumours of its coming have been circulating almost since the current A4 appeared, but so far, Audi has yet to offer a single word one way or the other.

This week however, reports from Europe point to a leaked document obtained from Audi's Swiss importer, Amag, which lists the RS 4 Avant wagon among the models Audi will display at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

While the list is short on details, it describes Audi's trusty 4.2 litre FSI V8 engine, producing 331kW. By comparison, BMW's M3 delivers 309kW, and the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG churns out 338kW.

The previous-generation RS 4 extracted 310kW from its 4.2 litre V8, rushing to 100km/h in 4.8 seconds.

It has also been speculated that the new RS 4 would switch to the same V6 engine driving the S4, boosting power (well) beyond its current 245kW.

A more powerful version of the already range-toping TT RS coupe is also reported to be Geneva-bound, squeezing an extra 15kW from its turbocharged 2.5 litre five-cylinder to make for 265kW.
