Audi has released a gallery of teaser renderings for a new SUV concept bound for this month’s Beijing Auto Show.

The concept, just the latest in a run of SUV showcars for the premium German marque, has also reignited speculation that a new Q4 model is in the works.

Reports of Audi-badged rivals to BMW’s X6 and new X4 have been circulating for some time, and the company is known to have also registered the trademark ‘SQ4’.

If these new sketches are anything to go by, Audi looks to have prepared a concept with the same ‘jacked-up coupe’ formula that has made the BMW X6 a global success.

Audi’s new 2014 TT Coupe will also lend a number of styling cues to the SUV, donating its bold grille and headlights, sweeping roofline, prominent wheel arches and large tail lights.

Likewise, the SUV concept’s cabin will take more than a little inspiration from the new TT, with large turbine-like vents and a separated centre console.

If the concept does make its way to production as a new coupe-like Q4, it may be just the first of a new line, with earlier reports also pointing to Q2 and Q9 models.

The Q2 and Q4 would take on a more sporting profile, slotting into the Audi line-up alongside the familiar Q3 and Q5.

The Q9, however, is rumoured to be a new ultra-luxury model larger even than the already gargantuan Q7.

Could the Q7 also get a coupe-like sibling? Possibly: reports in early 2013 suggest that a Q8 model is also under consideration.

Watch for more on the new Audi concept to come in Beijing.
