Audi has recalled its Q3 SUV in Australia this week, due to a potential problem with the vehicle’s tail lamps.
Using the foot-operated brake pedal in the normal fashion should see the brake lights illuminate as intended, but an emergency stop using the Electro-mechanical Parking Brake (EPB) button may not.
Should the brake lights fail during this procedure, a hazard may be present for other road users. However, Audi says Q3 owners can continue driving their vehicles until the recall is performed.
Affected Q3 models were built between June 2014 and November 2016, with 2598 vehicles on the recall list for Australia.
The recall will include an inspection of the vehicle and a software update to correct the problem.
Audi will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer or phone Audi Australia on 1800 502 834.
