Audi Q2 Compact SUV Locked In For 2016 Debut, Q5 Replacement Coming

Audi has confirmed that it plans to "enter a new market segment" with the long-rumoured Audi Q2 compact SUV, with the smaller companion to the Audi Q3 slated to make its debut in 2016 - most likely at the Geneva Motor Show in March. 

But beyond a statement of intent, there are few other details as to what to expect from the Q2. 

Even what platform it will be built on is sketchy. While many new models in the Volkswagen Group have transitioned to the MQB/MLB scalable architectures, the Audi A1 - which is expected to be the basis for the Q2 - won't make that move until 2017 when an all-new model arrives.
