A number of Audi's Australian models have benefited from 2012 model-year upgrades in recent weeks, including the addition of Audi Connect to the A1, A3 Sportback, A4, A5 and Q5.

Two new features you won't find in Australian Audi cars however are Google Streetview and Internet Radio.

The new services joined the international Audi Connection system this week, offering access to Google's familiar street-level photographic vantage point, and over 4000 online radio stations.

The music component is dubbed Audi Music Stream, and it allows users to browse a selection of online radio stations through both the in-car interface and via a wirelessly connected smartphone - perfect for backseat DJs.

The Google Streetview feature offers high-resolution street-level images of buildings and landmarks, giving motorists a more recognisable view of their destination. The service also overlays buildings with address details and the names of businesses.

Speaking with TMR today, Audi Australia's Shaun Cleary said that while both features are on the company's want list, future availability remains unclear for now.

"Audi Connect, with Google Street View and Internet Radio, isn't yet available in Australia. We're looking at bringing those technologies here, but at this stage we're unable to confirm when," Mr Cleary said.
