Audi Australia has announced a recall for some 2017 A4, A6, A7 and A8 models to rectify a potential fault in the airbags and seatbelt tensioners.
Deployed in an accident, the airbags and belt tensioners are activated by a small pyrotechnic mechanism and in the vehicles subject to the recall, an incorrect mix ratio of the igniting agent may cause them not to trigger.
Audi is contacting owners of the vehicles and scheduling free servicing at dealers to inspect and replace the affected airbags and seat belt tensioners.
Included are 2017 model year Audi A4, A4 Avant, A4 Allroad, A6, A7 and A8 models – only 39 vehicles in total with specific VIN numbers.
Concerned owners can contact their local Audi dealer, or ring Audi Australia on 1800 50 2834.
