Slated to make its real-world debut at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show, the Audi A2 concept has already broken cover in these computer-generated images released by the German automaker earlier today.
Slotting into the narrow gap between the A1 and A3, the A2 is likely to be offered with either an all-electric powertrain or a range-extender hybrid setup.
For the all-electric model, power figures of 85kW and 270Nm have been mooted, along with a nine second 0-100km/h sprint time. The A2's lithium-ion battery pack can supposedly reach a full charge from empty in just four hours, and maximum range is expected to be almost 200km.
Measuring just 3.8 metres long and 1.69 metres wide, the four-door A2 is nevertheless designed to seat four people in comfort. However, the concept's space-age interior holds few clues about what the production model's cabin will eventually look like.
Expect more details on the A2 to surface next week at Frankfurt.
