A "noted English luxury carmaker" has a new rival, with the very British-looking Trésor revealed online this week from German design studio Atelier Valdeig and Armourtech Motors.
There are no prizes for guessing which brand has inspired the look of the Trésor (French for 'treasure'), with the big SUV's nose and rump all pointing to the Volkswagen group's Bentley marque.
While the Trésor's grille, headlights and taillights are all clearly inspired by Bentley's familiar styling, the high-riding wagon's donor body is actually an Audi Q7. (Keeping it in the family then.)
The Bentley themes continue in the cabin, with bespoke quilted leather trim patterns and genuine woodgrain inserts, and a number of features - inside and out - have come directly from Bentley's own catalogue.
Power for the Trésor will be provided by Audi-sourced engines however, including a diesel V12 producing 370kW and 1000Nm of torque.
Despite the Bentley styling of the SUV Trésor shown here, Atelier Valdeig says buyers will be able to customise the car's look in a number of ways, and other options will include a longer wheelbase and rear-hinged rear doors.
An armoured version will also be offered, fitted out by Russian group ArmorTech.
If the look of Bentley's EXP 9 F concept failed to move you, the Trésor might be just the ticket.
Pricing and availability of the Trésor have yet to be revealed - expect a poultice.
