Aston Martin has revealed what could be the first look at its long-coming replacement for the now 10 year-old DB9 supercar.

Dubbed ‘DB10’, the new supercar concept, which will be driven by superspy James Bond in the coming 24th instalment of the franchise, was revealed overnight by new Aston Martin boss Andy Palmer.

“In the same year that we celebrate our 50-year relationship with 007, it seems doubly fitting that today we unveiled this wonderful new sports car created especially for James Bond. I’m incredibly proud of everyone in the team at Gaydon who have brought this special project from concept to reality,” Palmer said.

Apart from delivering this glimpse of its future, it seems the British carmaker has also arrived at a decision on whether to keep counting its way through history.

Aston executives had previously been at odds on the question of this new model’s name, with ‘DB10’, ‘DBX’ and a continuation of ‘DB9’ all known to be under consideration.
