Aston Martin Vulcan Coming To Geneva – New Hypercar On The Way?

Aston Martin has teased a new model ahead of next month’s Geneva Motor Show, with hints we could be in for something special.

The new offering is called the Vulcan, and Aston has released a short black and white video (bottom of page) to make the motoring world aware of its existence.

Not a single wheel, panel, exhaust tip or in fact any other part of the car is visible in the short teaser clip, but these items might be ‘minor detail’ if the video is anything to go by.

Fans will have to dig deep for the clues, but it’s clear the new Aston’s engine note - singing at a reasonably high RPM accompanied by a semi-automatic transmission perhaps - is a key ingredient here.

The carmaker’s trademark V12 could feature in the Vulcan, and the racetrack could be its natural home.

The video shows the world famous Eau Rouge corner at Spa-Francorchamps as an introduction, with a ‘ghost’ car straddling ripple strips throughout as it negotiates what would logically be the rest of the track.

And that’s all Aston Martin will tell us, for now.

Reports out of the UK suggest the Vulcan will be the most performance-oriented Aston ever built, offered as a limited edition model to go up against the likes of the Ferrari FXX K.

The Vulcan won’t be flying the hypercar flag alone in Geneva either, with the Koenigsegg Regera ‘megacar’ and McLaren’s 675LT also set to star.

Aston Martin will no doubt reveal more about the Vulcan in the lead up to Geneva - stay tuned.
