Aston Martin has pulled the covers off a surprise new concept at the Geneva Motor Show, potentially previewing a new line of models.

Called the DBX, the concept is said to “defy conventional thinking about the luxury GT segment”, and Aston hopes its latest creation will attract new fans to the brand.

Despite its apparent crossover / SUV look, the carmaker at no point has referred to it as such when discussing the new concept.

New company CEO Dr Andy Palmer was on hand for the unveiling, saying the design brief for the DBX was something that captured the future of GT motoring.

“The DBX Concept is a challenge to the existing status quo in the high luxury GT segment,” Dr Palmer said.

“It envisages a world, perhaps a world not too far away, when luxury GT travel is not only stylish and luxurious but also more practical, more family-friendly and more environmentally responsible.”
