Aston Martin has given its new hero car a surprise debut at this week's Concorso d'Eleganza in Italy. Say hello to the AM310 Concept.

The unveiling of the AM310 follows months of undercover testing, captured by TMR's photographers in various states of disguise.

Like Porsche's 911, Aston's DB flagships have carried a familiar evolutionary style through the years, and the story is the same here.

Borrowing from and softening the lines of the limited-edition One-77 supercar, the AM310 brings a sharpened profile, more pronounced guards and a longer roofline.

Up front is a longer and slimmer grille design and Rapide-inspired headlights, while the rear lights are a clear nod to the tail of the One-77.

Both bumpers feature track-driven aerodynamic treatments, bringing an even more purposeful look to the supercoupe.

Speculation is rife on the AM310's final identity. Is this the successor to the DB9, or is it a new DBS?

Numerous reports point to the DBS name, although it is unclear if a new DBS would rule above an eventual DB10, or if it would replace the DB9 all-together.

Technical details for the AM310 remain a secret, and while rumours suggest a more powerful version of the car's existing V12 engine, Aston has yet to offer any official clues. TMR explored engine opportunities in an earlier report.

For now, the AM310 remains a concept. We expect to hear word of its production debut in the coming months.
